About Cathego Shoes Scam

Cathego is structured as a minimalistic retail site designed to target women shoppers between the ages of 18 to 35.

Upon landing on the site, we are greeted with an “Up To 80% OFF” sales alert.

Every item featured at Cathego is discounted with ‘online savings’ averaging between 45% to 72% off original retail pricing.

Back-tracing product images through Google will reveal that all the inventory featured at Cathego are products featured from other online retailers.

This discovery directly contradicts the About Us statement featured at Cathego.com:

“Welcome to cathego.com. Every season, we make high-quality shoes that feel as good as they look. With artistic touches, unparalleled craftsmanship, and exquisite materials, we design shoes to satisfy the demands of every lifestyle. Every day of your life, you can count on finding comfort in our shoes.”

Coincidentally, you can copy and paste the About Us text from above into a Google search and you’ll realize that a few other shady retail sites are also employing the same templates for their About Us page.

These sites currently include:

  • BornShoes.com
  • AlamoShoes.com
  • Bourdani.com

As you can see, the scammers behind the Cathego shoe scam are well-rehearsed in the unethical art of creating convincing online retail scams.

Payments & Returns

We are not encouraging anyone to buy from Cathego, that much is clear, however, here are their accepted payment methods:

  • AMEX
  • Discover
  • JCB
  • MasterCard
  • Vica
  • PayPal

It is crucial that you know that many unethical and fraudulent scam sites have started accepting PayPal as an accepted payment method.

Consumers tend to take this accepted payment method as an indication that the retailer in question must be legit because they accept PayPal BUT that is not the case!

You see, these con-artists provide stolen tracking numbers from various shipping carriers such as UPS, USPS, and DHL and pawn them off for their own ‘purchase orders.’

While products are shown as delivered through PayPal, the consumer in turn never receives the product that they were promised and are left to tango with the Complaint Center of PayPal, where many consumers have been unable to recover their stolen funds DESPITE overwhelming evidence and multiple complaints concerning particular sellers.

It is honestly a vicious cycle and one that we are seeing more and more often, therefore, only shop with trustworthy and reputable retail sites, the cost of saving a couple of bucks from a discount site is NOT worth losing what can be the value of your entire purchase.

Refunds are said to be executed within 2 to 3 days but consumers are responsible for covering return shipping costs which also happens to be taken from your refund, “If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.”

What the hell is the point of paying for return shipping, twice?

There is no point, it’s just another way that these scumbags can charge your payment method, again, therefore, do yourself a favor and DO NOT SHOP THERE!

Have You Been Scammed?

If you’ve been scammed it is imperative that you contact your financial institution as soon as possible.

Inform them regarding your experiences and concerns, initiate a chargeback then make sure you request a new payment card to prevent future unwarranted transactions from occurring.

Is Cathego a scam?

Yes, Cathego is an online scam retailer.

Cathego need to be removed from Facebook. I ordered shoes on 5/21/20 and yet to receive them. I’m in the midst of having the funds put back on my credit card and filing a complaint with the BBB.

If this is a known scam (and it is because I was scammed by Cathego) then why is Facebook allowing them on their site? I’m not understanding this. When something is exposed to be a lie, why is Facebook allowing them to continue to use their platform as the mechanism to reach more women? As far as I’m concerned Facebook is an accomplice
